Ramirez and Guerrero L.L.P. begin their new association effective as of January 1, 2008.Jesus Ramirez was a long-time partner in the law firm, Montalvo & Ramirez, in McAllen, Texas, where he began his practice in 1983.Jose R. Guerrero, an associate with Montalvo & Ramirez for 17 years, will now be a partner in the newly formed limited liability partnership.The firm believes that the new association will streamline their law practice.Both attorneys are well-recognized as local government counsel, having served as general counsel and special counsel for numerous local government units, such as municipalities, school districts, counties, and special districts, in Cameron, Starr, Willacy and Zapata counties in South Texas. The firm will continue a local government and public finance (see public finance practice), in addition to its commercial transaction and litigation practice.
As a commercial transaction and litigation firm, the firm will continue to represent parties in the following areas:

design and construction defects in commercial and public projects
